Software Development Risks
As we saw in Risk Frameworks, every framework needs a breakdown of the risks it addresses. In this section, we'll look at the different risks identified in the risk frameworks and explain them one by one.
Why does naming matter? Because once you have a shared vocabulary, you can discuss risks with your team, recognise patterns across projects, and apply proven strategies to address them.
Main Areas
Here, risks are broken down into four main categories.
Feature Risks
Risks you face when providing features for your clients.
Dependency Risks
Risk faced by depending on something else, e.g. an event, process, person, piece of software or an organisation.
Model Risks
Risks arising from the models we use to understand and communicate about our systems.
Environmental Risks
Risks related the environment in which an operation is performed.
